This is a film about a love triangle between two partners in the violin making business and Camille (Emmanuelle Beart), a violinist. A complex emotional plot evolves from a simple idea. She goes out with the partner in charge of business and custom. The other partner (Daniel Auteuil) starts trying to make her like him as a bit of a game. Things get out of hand, and I won't spoil the best bit of the film, by telling you how. The films ending is neither a twist in the tail or an anti-climax, slightly surprising but not altogether a happy ending. The film has many dramatic moments which are aided by a superb selection of music by Ravel, which is played throughout.
